TL;DR:

Showing up online is exhausting. Especially when you are 45+, have decades of experience, and still have to earn attention in a space that often rewards novelty over substance.

I have a doctorate. I have decades of experience. I built a TV network. And yet, I still must earn attention every single day. That reality can be discouraging — unless you reframe it.

Here is how I stay motivated to keep showing up.

1. I’m Building a Legacy, Not Just a Brand

At 58, I am not here to impress. I am here to impact. The difference matters. When your motivation is impression, every low-view video feels like a failure. When your motivation is impact, every piece of content is a seed planted.

I think about the body of work I am building. Not just for today, but for the people who will find it years from now. Legacy thinking changes everything.

2. I Focus on Influence, Not Popularity

My content is not for everyone. It is for the expert who has mastered their craft but has not mastered their visibility. It is for the leader over 45 who feels invisible in a digital world that seems designed for younger voices.

My mission is to help people 45+ break through digital invisibility. That mission keeps me focused when the metrics are quiet.

3. I Track the Ripple, Not Just the Wave

Viral waves are exciting, but quiet ripples are more potent. A message from someone who says, “Your video changed how I think about my brand” is worth more than 10,000 passive views.

I track the ripples. The DMs. The emails. The stories people share about how something I said made a difference. Those are the metrics that matter.

4. I Treat Motivation Like a System, Not a Mood

I do not wait to feel motivated. I have systems in place that keep the content flowing regardless of how I feel:

Motivation is unreliable. Systems are not.

5. I Made My Platform Part of My Purpose

PSI TV is not just a business. It is a ministry of visibility. It exists to give substantive voices a stage that the algorithm would never offer them.

When your platform serves your purpose, showing up is not a chore. It is a calling.

Age is no reason not to be relevant. If anything, it is a reason to be more intentional about how you show up, what you share, and the legacy you build.
